12/06/1963 AD awarded

The first recipients of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, selected by Kennedy, received their medals from his successor, Lyndon B. Johnson, on December 6, 1963, at the White House.

Kennedy, who had been assassinated the previous month, was added to the list and granted the Presidential Medal of Freedom posthumously.
