King Charles I of England Crowned
02/02/1626 AD crowned

Being Catholic, it was impossible for Henrietta Maria' to be crowned in an Anglican service; she asked that the French Catholic Bishop crown her instead, but this was unacceptable to Charles and the court. Henrietta Maria was allowed to watch at a discreet distance. Her failure to be crowned went down badly with the London crowds
