John Grigg, Lord Altrincham
1924 AD - 2001 AD
British writer, historian and politician, who argued that Queen Elizabeth II's court was too upper-class and British.
He was the 2nd Baron Altrincham from 1955 until he disclaimed that title under the Peerage Act on the day it received the Royal Assent in 1963.
Grigg edited the National and English Review (1954–1960) as his father had done.
