AKA MUL.ALPIN
Two tablets created by Babylonian astronomers.
The first tablet lists the stars and constellations along with data regarding when and where they rise. The second tablet is more focused on methods used by the astronomers.
The oldest known copy dates to 686 BC, but most scholars believe the text was originally compiled around 1000 BC.
Brad Schaefer, an astronomer at Louisiana State University, has dated the observations to 1,370 BC plus or minus about 100 years. He has also pinpointed the location of the observations to within 100km of 35.1° N
