820 AD - 1145 AD
AKA Liber algebrae et almucabala

This book established Algebra as a distinct discipline.
It presents ways to solve quadratic equations as well as methods of finding areas and volumes. There is also discussion of the Jewish calendar including the convergence of the lunar and solar calendars.
The second half of the book provides extensive application of the techniques to the complex rules of Islamic inheritance which require algebra to solve.
