Gregory Orders Calendar Reform

Gregory decreed, by the papal bull Inter gravissimas, that a new calendar would be adopted later in the year with several reforms.
It reduced the number of leap years and wound back the creep of the Julian Calendar — Specifically, the day after Thursday, 4 October 1582 would be not Friday, 5 October, but rather Friday, 15 October 1582
