Appearing before a Diet called by Otto Berengar II and his son Adalbert are forced to swear fealty to Otto as his vassals.
In return, Otto restores the title "King of Italy" to Berengar II, granting him Italy as his fiefdom.
Berengar II is also required to pay an enormous annual tribute and to cede the Duchy of Friuli ..
Otto then put the ceded territory under Henry's control as the March of Verona.
