Tycho explains Super Nova

Tycho explains Super Nova
01/01/1573 AD published

In his book De nova stella Brahe noted that his super nova had no daily parallax against the background of the fixed stars, so he deduced that it was farther away than the Moon.
Furthermore, when there continued to be no parallax over months he deduced that it was further away than the outer planets as well, and likely a "new star." He thus coined the term nova.
