Newton Gets Gravity from an Apple

Newton Gets Gravity from an Apple
1666 AD discovered

Newton did indeed observe an apple drop in his mother's garden and realized there must be a force drawing the apple to the center of the earth.
This according to Newton's assistant and husband of his niece, John Conduitt, who states that Newton himself offered this explanation.
This is corroborated by Stukeley in Memoirs of Sir Isaac Newton's Life a conversation with Newton in Kensington on 15 April 1726.
