Columbus meets Ferdinand and Isabella
01/1492 AD met
Columbus proposes sailing west to India, Queen Isabella initially refuses.
While Columbus is dejectedly leaving town on a mule he is recalled by Ferdinand.
This after he and the Queen have consulted with experts (including sailors, philosophers, astrologers) who considered the idea absurd — and avisors (including the Archbishop of Toledo) who suggested there was much to gain and little to lose in supporting the expedition.
The monarchs agree in principle and begin planning the details.
