07/09/1762 AD deposed
Peter took a holiday, leaving wife Catherine behind in Saint Petersburg. Hearing that her plotted coup had been discovered, she first asked the Ismailovsky regiment to protect her from her husband. Catherine then proceded to another barracks, where the clergy ordained her as the sole ruler. Next she ordered her husband arrested, compelling him to abdicate the throne to her alone.
