Cabral Finds Brazil
04/22/1500 AD discovered
At first thinking that he had found an Atlantic island, Cabral's fleet had actually found Brazil. The made landfall the next day and found the natives to be very peaceful.
Brazil was inhabited by numerous tribal nations prior to the landing in 1500 of explorer Pedro Álvares Cabral, who claimed the area for the Portuguese Empire
