Cabral Sets Sail

Cabral left Lisbon the day after a huge send off celebration and mass attended by the King and a crowd of well wishers.
Under his command were 13 ships carrying 700 soldiers and 800 other (naval) personnel, including notable captains such as Bartolomeu Dias, Diogo Dias and Nicolau Coelho.
