Cruden's Concordance
11/03/1737 AD presented
Cruden presented the first edition of his work to Queen Caroline (wife of George II) seeking a royal warrant as a form of advertisement for his book. Cruden managed to secure her patronage and was due to receive £100 (a big sum at that time); but she died some days later without rewarding him.
Cruden had to go into debt to finance the printing.
