El Chichón — A high-altitude aerial oblique view taken on November 4, 1982 shows the effect of the El Chichón eruption about seven months later. This view from the west shows fumaroles around the new lake partially filling the crater and areas devastated by pyroclastic flows and surges. The circular rim of the nearly 2-km-wide pre-eruption somma can be seen surrounding the 1982 crater rim.
