King Ferdinand I of León 1037–1065

After his victory in Battle of Tamarón, Ferdinand took possession of León after a brief siege and was accepted as Bermudo's successor, though he was not crowned in León until 22 June 1038.
The united realm of León and Castile, with its rimlands of Asturias and Galicia, would become the political center of the north Iberian Christian society.
